Nissa Cannon--Making it Different Exercise

Page history last edited by Nissa 10 years, 4 months ago

Why stop with my running The Sun Also Rises theme now? I took the famous image of Hemingway at a cafe amongst the book's real-life inspirations (Harold Loeb, Lady Duff Twysden, etc), and ran it through "Glitch Images." What really interests me the most about this is using an old, already not that great of quality, photo, and introducing imaging glitches evoking technologies not yet invented at the time the photo was taken. What does it mean to superimpose digital glitches onto a most decidedly analogue photo, with "glitches" of its own in the form of poor focus and scratches to the image? Is one set of these glitches more "authentic" than the other?
