Inez - Text Analysis

Page history last edited by Inez 10 years, 5 months ago

As I tried these text analysis tools with short poems, there weren't many fruitful results out of the visualization of word frequencies. The Poem viewer is great, but for some reason I couldn't generate my own one. So here is a text collation I created by Juxta Commons, comparing two most widely circulated English translations of Constantine Cavafy's "The City," respectively by Edmund Keeley & Philip Sherrard, and by Daniel Mendelsohn. http://juxtacommons.org/shares/yZiGRH

Meanwhile, I came across an amazing Portuguese program (not strictly text analysis), which allows the user to generate two poems into one, and allows the viewer to change the specific word in the process of reading by clicks. Some of their most mature works are accompanied with sophisticated visualization and audio reciting. So I'm just sharing it here: http://telepoesis.net/poemario/?page_id=2But it works better in Portuguese and again my computer still has some problems running the software.
